Polypropylene Wax abbreviated as PP wax, it is an important synthetic wax, also known as low molecular weight polypropylene wax, which appears as a white powder or granular solid substance. Polypropylene wax is a derivative of low molecular weight polypropylene, usually produced by thermal cracking or catalytic degradation of high relative molecular weight polypropylene.
The characteristic of polypropylene wax is its high melting point, usually between 130 and 170 ℃, and its drop melting point is more than 30 ℃ higher than that of polyethylene wax In addition, its density is approximately 90 to 92 grams per cubic centimeter, and its viscosity is maintained at 100 to 250 CPS. Polypropylene wax plays an important role in polyolefin processing due to its unique properties. It not only has a high melting point and low melting degree, but also has good lubricity and dispersibility. In addition, polypropylene wax exhibits excellent thermal stability, does not change color even after prolonged heating, and has extremely low volatile matter and no odor.
The uses of polypropylene wax are as follows:
1. When processing high viscosity polypropylene fibers, adding polypropylene wax can increase the MI value, increase lubrication and flowability, reduce polypropylene fracture, improve smoothness, and change the melt index of polyolefins.
2. Excellent delamination agent: When a large amount of filler is added to polypropylene, injection molding becomes difficult, the surface of the product becomes rough, and delamination is not easy. Adding an appropriate amount of polypropylene wax can improve the flowability of the blend and make the material miscible. Make the product easy to peel off and improve the smoothness of the finished product.
3. Polypropylene wax can be used for the production of toner for electrostatic copiers, providing excellent lubrication, increasing the melting point and moisture resistance of toner, and preventing the adhesion of copied materials.
4. Polypropylene wax is an energy-saving agent and process modifier used in polyolefin resin processing. Adding an appropriate amount of polypropylene wax during LLDDE and HLPE extrusion can reduce the host current by 10-20%, improve extrusion speed, and increase efficiency, especially in LLDDE blow molding processing, which can improve the appearance quality and transparency of the film.
5. Polypropylene wax is a dispersant and lubricant used in the manufacture of high-temperature resistant spinning masterbatch, which can replace polyethylene wax in the production of high-temperature spinning masterbatch. It overcomes the odor caused by sublimation of polyethylene wax during high-temperature spinning. Specially suitable for dispersing and lubricating the production of specialized masterbatches for acrylic, polyester, and nylon spinning.
6. Polypropylene wax used in printing ink can improve the wear resistance of the ink, enhance temperature resistance, and extend the service life of the product. Polypropylene wax is also used in the manufacturing of high-temperature resistant melt adhesives.
